Aussie Rules Sport Angles

You’re chilling on one of those cheap plastic chairs at the tyre shop, watching the guys move like they are racing in Formula 1. You can see that TV in the corner is showing a scoreline that makes absolutely no sense. Those numbers are huge and they just keep on growing.

We get it, you’re probably used to PSL and rugby. But Aussie Rules will scratch that late-night itch when you want to watch a fast-paced game that just never stops, lekker.

Why Aussie Rules?

South Africans catch on to this quick because things can change in a flash, which makes it so exciting. A couple of minutes can change everything. You also don’t have to know all the players to bet smart because the main markets behave the way you expect.

If you check the Sports page on YesPlay, you should be able to find Aussie Rules along with various Australia competitions like AFL, which includes AFL Women season, as well as a competition page called AFL, Women 2025 that has its own “More markets” section.

If you want to see what’s on the menu, just go to https://yesplay.bet/sports/prematch/aussie-rules and use the quick time filters, such as 1h, 3h, and 12h. This should make it easier for you to keep track of all the games.

Which markets?

On each match card you’ll be able to see a few very important stats, such as 1×2, Totals, and Handicap. If you want a fuller list, you can always click on ‘More markets’. 1×2 refers to home side, draw, and away side. Totals refer to combined score, while Handicap is simply the point start that levels the sides.

If you don’t want to be siding with anyone, you can bet on total scores. And if you believe that one of the teams is way stronger than the other, handicap can prevent you from paying a small price on the favourite. One good point is enough to make a solid wager. For example, a R29 bet at 1.86 could give you R53.94 if it lands. If you think that the return is not good enough for the risk that you’re taking, lower your wager or don’t bet at all.
