In 2017 and 2018, Class 4A saw the Arkadelphia Badgers win back-to-back state championships. Since then, the Badgers have been absent from the final four. That officially changed last Friday. So many people had last weeks game against Crossett as their game of the week in their area or even statewide. The Badgers came to play and it looked like Crossett was befuddled most of the night. It was a battle in the first half, with both teams exchanging blows including an 80 yard kickoff return by Crossett. That however would be the final time the Eagles would score until late in the third quarter. Badger quarterback Donovan Whitten had a field day with the Crossett defense, tallying up 415 total yards through the air and on the ground. The junior also accounted for five touchdowns in the win over Crossett. It was a game that Arkadelphia had wanted back quite a bit after falling there back in 2019 in the same scenario. The Badgers are back in the semifinals for the first time since 2018, and they will have to face the same program they beat that year to advance to the title game: Shiloh Christian. When the Saints and Badgers last met, it was in Shiloh Christian where Arkadelphia pulled out a 30-17 win. The Saints have not lost an in-state game since their 2019 state championship loss to Joe T. Robinson. Shiloh's only loss this season came to Sand Springs, OK. Both teams own high powered offenses and stout defenses. The winner of tomorrow's game gets a title shot against either Warren or Joe T. Robinson. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
